Your first Botox appointment at Revyve takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and most of that time is conversation. If you are booking Botox in North Andover, MA for the first time, here is what the visit looks like from start to finish.
Before your visit
Come with a clean face if you can, or we will cleanse the area for you.
Tell us about your medications and supplements. Some, such as blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil, can make bruising more likely. Never stop a prescribed medication without checking with the provider who prescribed it.
Skipping alcohol for 24 hours beforehand may help reduce bruising.
If you have an event coming up, book at least two weeks ahead so results have time to settle.
Step 1: Your consultation
We start by listening. You tell us what you are noticing and what you would like to feel when you look in the mirror. We review your health history, watch how your face moves, and explain what Botox can and cannot do. If it is not the right fit, we will say so.
Step 2: Your plan
We map out the areas to treat and the dose we recommend, and we go over the cost before anything begins. For a first visit we lean conservative. It is always possible to add more at a follow-up.
Step 3: Treatment
The treatment itself takes only a few minutes. We use a very fine needle, and most people feel a quick pinch at each point. You may see small raised bumps or mild redness that fade within an hour or so.
Step 4: Aftercare
Stay upright for about four hours.
Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for the rest of the day.
Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, and alcohol for 24 hours.
Makeup can usually go back on gently later that day.
When you will see results
Botox works gradually. You may notice a change in three to five days, with the full effect at around two weeks. Results typically last three to four months and vary from person to person. We like to check in at two weeks to see how everything settled.
Frequently asked questions
Can I go back to work afterward? Yes. Most people return to their day right away.
What are the possible side effects? Mild bruising, a headache, or tenderness can happen and usually pass quickly. We go over less common risks at your consultation.
How much will I need? That depends on your muscles and goals, which is why the consultation comes first.
